MARI MARI RESERVE, Chile

With its idyllic setting of 9,000 acres of lush terrain and some 13 miles of Pacific coastline, Mari Mari Natural Reserve is South America’s premier luxury eco-resort. This spectacular natural paradise is the setting for explorations on land or at sea; on foot or on horseback; by kayak or boat; with binoculars or snorkels; while providing the creature comforts and exquisite cuisine expected from a five-star resort. Activities at Mari Mari Natural Reserve Experience strike the perfect balance between nature and cultural-based options.

The helicopter flight from to Mari Mari Natural Reserve is one of the highlights of this journey. You will overfly some remote landscapes only a few people have seen before. Day 3 - 6

RIO PALENA LODGE, Argentina

Welcome to Rio Palena Lodge and Eleven Angling’s unique adventures. Eleven’s
casually elegant lodge is an ultimate fly-fishing and adventure retreat. The central location in a region famous for large wild trout—browns and rainbows—is highlighted by the home waters of the Palena, where you can wade and float glass-clear aqua-colored water right out the front door. Special super-charged trout thrive in the glacial waters of the myriad of lakes, rivers, and streams all over this slice of Patagonia, providing anglers and travelers with a diversity of experiences. The lodge accommodates only 14 guests in 7 well-appointed guest suites, with the commitment to unparalleled service and comfort ready to welcome you. A wide range of activities are possible from the lodge: fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, sightseeing picnics, yoga, cooking classes and wine tasting, or just kicking back at the lodge and scheduling a soothing massage.
You also have the intangibles of the awe-inspiring Andean forests towering overhead, the sounds of the current rushing over centuries-old boulders, and giant condors floating over a glacier. It’s an atmosphere of tranquility and raw nature to appreciate and savor.

Day 7 - 10

PATAGONIA NATIONAL PARK, Chile

Departing Rio Palena on a private flight to Valle Chacabuco Lodge will shorten the travel time of your itinerary between these locations. During your stay at Parque Patagonia live the legacy of late Douglas Tompkins and one of the most idyllic remote locations for hiking and exploring Patagonian flora and fauna and showcasing Patagonian steppe in all its splendor, used as travelling terrain since ancient times both by nomadic peoples and a large diversity of fauna.

When Kris and Doug Tompkins first visited the Chacabuco Valley in 1995, CONAF (Chile’s National Forest Service) had long since recognized the need to prioritize the protection of these unique and biodiverse ecosystems. With help from the Tompkins and Conservación Patagónica foundations, the 170,500-acre Estancia Chacabuco was acquired. In subsequent years, several other adjacent properties were purchased from willing sellers.
Eventually, the 200,000 acres that have been acquired in the Chacabuco Valley will be combined with the Jeinimeni Reserve to the north and the Tamango Reserve to the south, combining and making up one large 640,000-acre Patagonia National Park, serving as an anchor for ecotourism and thoughtful resource use in the Aysén Region, and promoting a model of development that embraces and protects the area’s incredible natural character.
