9 days on a bespoke culinary journey through Chile
Santiago – Talca – Pucón – Reñihué
Day 1: AM: Arrival in Santiago and transfer to The Singular Santiago hotel
- Depart after breakfast from your hotel to get to know one the biggest wine valleys in Chile, Casablanca.
- Visit Bodegas Re for a tour where you will experience a new winery that is RE-discovering the origins of winemaking in clay pots that were used by the first president of Chile back in the 1800’s.
- Afterwards you will visit Terra Noble where you will meet Patricio Cáceres, your private chef for your entire trip, who will cook your first Chilean lunch with local natural resources and ingredients fresh from that morning.
- You will end your experience at Villard winery having a glass of wine and playing “bochas” (traditional French family game) with the owner of the family winery. Thierry Villard founded famous Australian Jacobs’ Creek winery before coming to Chile and founding this extraordinary family-run winery.
- Return to your Hotel for a short rest before discovering your chef’s own culinary lab: Motemei Kitchen-Workshop Restaurant where you will enjoy a journey through the flavors of central Chile.
Day 2: Heli flight with your own chef to Talca
- Heli flight with your own chef to Talca.
- Overfly the 7 Tazas National Park stunning waterfalls and enjoy a local picnic.
- Land in Bouchon winery vineyards located among the slopes of the Coastal Mountain range and the alluvial terraces of the Maule Valley. Land to choose the perfect wine to match the cuts you selected for your traditional asado chileno.
- Land at your private residence and learn how Chileans celebrate most social gatherings: a full-day Chilean Barbeque, which may include empanadas, Chilean chorizo sandwiches, skirt steak, blood sausage, tongue, several salads, “arrollado de huaso” delicatessen, and of course, a local cocktail called Earthquake.
- One of Pato’s best features is that the menu is never fixed, it always depends on what’s fresh or most appealing at local markets.
Day 3: Heli flight to Pucón
- After a gourmet breakfast, enjoy the views of central Chile’s lakes, valleys, volcanoes and mountains as you fly to your next private home in Pucón.
- Upon arrival, pick the ingredients of the local greenhouse which you will then cook along with your chef. The meal will be nutritious to provide you with the energy you will need for the afternoon’s activities.
- Pucón is the perfect place for outdoors activities in Chile. You can choose your favorite among the following: rafting, kayaking, and fly fishing or trekking amidst the area’s breathtaking volcanoes, rivers and lakes.
- Then enjoy an evening of fine dining and wine pairings – the ultimate one-on-one culinary encounter.
Day 4: Full-Day Outdoors Activities
- Breakfast inspired by your personal chef and tastes of your party
- Early trekking to the Cañi Natural Sanctuary
- Outdoor picnic lunch with 360° views of stunning natural scenery
- Visit to “Termas Geometricas” hot springs
- Head to town and visit the local food fair to learn about Chilean local vegetables and herbs along your chef who will prepare your dinner feast on your way back to an amazing private house that sits on the edge of the Villarrica Volcano and offer stunning views of the lake.
Day 5: Local Culture Day
- Breakfast inspired by your personal chef and tastes of your party
- Visit a local indigenous community and become acquainted with native ingredients and preparations that your private chef will use for your lunch.
- After lunch you will take a helicopterthat will directly overfly the volcano summit where you can appreciate the magnitude of its crater and the outstanding volcanic activity, always surrounded by beautiful lakes and landscapes of the south of Chile.
- Then enjoy an evening of fine dining and wine pairings – the ultimate one-on-one culinary encounter.
Day 6: Heli flight to Reñihué
- Breakfast inspired by your personal chef and tastes of your party
- Accommodation in a luxurious private home in Reñihué which enjoys the privilege of having a National Park as its backyard. A peaceful, exclusive retreat deep in southern Chile’s mythical Patagonia, surrounded by incredibly varied landscapes of awe-inspiring beauty. It has its own vegetable patch where you can harvest your own food, plus being located on the edge of a waterway with a motorboat at your disposal to sail to a nearby fishermen’s cove to choose from the catch of the day.
- Once having collected your lunch ingredients, your chef will prepare your meal only with the products you have freshly harvested together.
- After lunch, choose between kayaking or fly fishing in the local Reñihue River.
- Enjoy a restful evening accompanied by your private chef who will surprise you with a local product produced feast.
Day 7: Heli Fly-Fishing Day
- Breakfast inspired by your personal chef and tastes of your party
- Enjoy a full day of Heli Fly-Fishing with a gourmet picnic by the river made with local ingredients and locally brewed beer.
- Enjoy a restful evening accompanied by your private chef who will surprise you with your dinner feast. Hopefully to cook one of the fish caught during the day.
Day 8: Stand Up Paddle and Spit-Roast Lamb Day
- Breakfast inspired by your personal chef and tastes of your party
- Enjoy a morning of SUP – Stand Up Paddle Experience with a gourmet picnic by the river with local ingredients or just enjoy the hot springs.
- For your final evening your chef will prepare a traditional spit-roast lamb dinner, one of Southern Chile’s most representative preparations.
Day 9: National Park Overflight & Return
- Breakfast inspired by your personal chef and tastes of your party
- Helicopter flight that will take you directly to overfly Parque Pumalin National Park where you can appreciate the beautiful landscape of Chilean Patagonia.
- The day’s meal itinerary will depend on international flight connection
Return to Santiago for international flight connection via Puerto Montt.
