ANTARTICA - CHILE
About
Snowshoeing is an easy (and sometimes necessary) way of exploring the coastline of the Antarctic Peninsula - just strap them on and go! It’s not technically challenging and with a few pointers from your guide, most people quickly get the hang of them. It is a fun way to see more of this glittering continent, open to everyone with a good level of fitness. Snowshoeing is at its best in November and December when the snow cover is heaviest. At this time, it can actually be the preferred way to get around, and has less impact on local wildlife. All hikes are led and supervised by certified, experienced expedition guides.
There’s no closer way to explore the polar coastlines and islands of Antarctica than on your own two feet. With this in mind, we offer a wide variety of invigorating hikes designed for all hikers to enjoy – from the casual walker to the hard-core hiking enthusiast. In Antarctica, the longest hike takes about three hours. Remember there are no paths here and that you will be traveling over fairly rugged terrain and some small hills.
