ABOUT

Apalta Valley is located 200 km southwest of Santiago. This horseshoe-shaped valley, within Colchagua Valley, just north of Santa Cruz town between the Andes and the Coastal Range, focuses on red wine production. Apalta wines are highly sought-after and are most often made from the classic varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Syrah.
Other Rhône and Bordeaux red grape varieties, such as Merlot, Petit Verdot and Mourvèdre play supporting roles. The valley is home to some of the country's most famous producers, including Montes Vineyards and Casa Lapostolle, where many of the flagship wines that count among the most impressive in South America are produced.
