HUERQUEHUE NATIONAL PARK

Huerquehue it is a Mapudungun word (mapuche language) that means the messenger's place. The National Park has a large number of Andean lagoons and lakes, the best-known being: Lago Chico, Lago Verde and Lago Toro, which can be visited on a day trip by walking the area through a beautiful path full of local flora and fauna, from this trail, you will have beautiful views of the Villarrica Volcano and its surroundings. This park also stands out for the conservation of animals such as the Valdivian mole mouse, Darwin's frog, the matausto lizard, among others. And if you refer to plants, the best known is the araucaria (monkey puzzle tree).
