Bike through the otherworldly landscape of Rapa Nui, a place like no other. Only a few Chilean travel specialists know the trick of exploring Rapa Nui by bike, yet this is in fact the best way to appreciate the island’s panoramic ocean views. We will go off the beaten path, straight into areas not accessible by vehicle, trodden only by local natives and their horses or goatherds.
Our Chile luxury travel specialists recommend travelers to visit Easter Island during the Tapati Rapa Nui festival (means “Rapa Nui week”) during the first two weeks of February. In the Tapati celebration period, the town is divided in two clans and each of them represents the island’s distinct ancient races. Each clan chooses a queen to “lead” them during the competitions and the winner team will become “Queen of the Island” for that year. It’s not a beauty contest but rather a peaceful confrontation between the two clans that complete days and nights, both in terms of their physical and artistic skills.
