This helicopter ride takes travelers to discover Chile’s best-kept secret only known to an exclusive few. The internationally claimed wine critic Christian Callec from Wine & Travel defined this experience as pure luxury from Chile: “The place is really fabulous, like the El Dorado in your best dreams; an island of peace and beautiful nature, in a place that even well-informed Chilean wine professionals never heard of”.

Travelers can expect to taste the region’s one-of-kind wine renown for its long-term aging process and the holistic philosophy behind its making. This exceptional wine is the result of an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and the vineyard’s specialists decide the exact proportion of each blend depending on the seasons. Travelers will have an exclusively arranged stay in VIK, and embark on a wine retreat paralleled to no other.

The story behind this legendary vineyard is itself fascinating. Alexander Vik, a Norwegian entrepreneur, proposed the creation of a world-class vineyard to produce a unique wine. To find the best terroir, he undertook meticulous soil studies that covered all of South America. In the end, VIK chose the best terroir with optimal climatic conditions for grape growing and purchased 4,325 hectares (10,688 acres) in Chile, which becomes the vineyard that we take travelers to visit nowadays. The chosen location has a beautiful name “the Millahue Valley”,or “Place of Gold” as called by the indigenous people, and travelers will soon understand why upon their visit. From private wine tastings of the carefully selected VIK wine led by world famous wine experts, to guided tours through VIK’s premium wineries, to horseback excursions through the countryside and surrounding mountain trails, the entire retreat is catered to each traveler’s interest and designed to be as exclusive, private as possible.
