Experience the once-in-a-lifetime miracle of a blossoming desert. A unique phenomenon only seen in Atacama Desert,  “El Niño” brings unusual amount of rainfall to the world’s driest place and creates a spectacle of colorful flowers. Travelers will spot over 200 types of flowers such as lilies, suspiros, añañucas, and goathorns blossoming in the Atacama’s arid landscape. It is truly a miracle to see a barren desert transforming into a gigantic color field of lovely flowers.

We can not guarantee that “El Niño” takes place every year, yet our firsthand knowledge of Atacama Desert will allow us to notify travelers as early as possible about this golden opportunity. The phenomenon usually occurs between August and September, and may extend into November (mid-Spring). Travelers will observe the desert from best viewing points of Quebrada Honda, on the El Temblador beach near La Serena, or else in Totoral Bajo, Carrizal Bajo, Huasco and Caleta.
